R U ready 4 the Chrimbo challenge?

Make a date with your diary for Sunday 14 January 2007, for the traditional festive season Chrimbo circular chess challenge.

The event takes place at the TAP AND SPILE, Hungate (off West Parade) in Lincoln city centre, from 1pm (directions below).

This is your chance to pit your wits against some of the country's top round chess players, in a series of informal games in the friendly setting of the TAP AND SPILE, home of the Circular Chess Society.

The Prize

And there is a prize for the best player of the day - a roll-up circular chess travel board for use anywhere, anytime.

Each competitor will face at least five games, with each match due to last about an hour on the chess clock.

The society will provide a free buffet for all competitors, and the pub offers a wide range of real ales, lagers, soft drinks, spirits, traditional and exotic wines.

Entry costs £10.00 per person. Please send a cheque to the society secretary, Mike Sedgwick, at 42 Arboretum Avenue, Lincoln, LN2 5JE, by Monday 8 January 2007.
